Whenever people have lived together they have told stories to explain the mysteries of the Universe ;of creation and destruction, of how people and animals first came to be, of the characters of the Gods and Goddesses they worship. These tales are called MYTHS, and, with their cast of heroes and monsters, explain how life works.LEGENDS, too, are Tales of adventures, but unlike myths, are thought to have some basis in historical fact. Myths and Legends have become the universal language of the people . They help us understand the unexplainable, to explain the unknowable, and to caution others about the unimaginable . They serve a more profound purpose in ancient and modern cultures. They answer the timeless questions and serve as a compass to each generation.

According to Hinduism, there are 4 distinct yugas or epochs .The first was Krista Yuga , followed by Treta Yuga , Dvapara Yuga and the fourth Kali Yuga , named after the throws of an Indian Game of dice . These four make up the Mahayuga .We are living in KaliYuga , which is believed to have been started in 3041 BC, when Lord Krishna left the earth for his heavenly abode after the great Mahabharat war, which created massive destruction . Kaliyuga is the name based on the premise that in this era the control of world vest in the Demon Kali, hence the name.In literal sense , Kali means "tomorrow ",in which we all live . No body is concerned for today and hence postponed it for tomorrow . We are all aspiring for a better tomorrow . The ancient Hindu text of Puranas characterised kaliyuga as being dominated by hatred ,intolerance , lust, corruption and evil. It is believed that at the end of this age , the Demon Kali will be defeated and killed by the 10th Vishnu Avatar , Kalki . This will mark the end of KaliYuga and everything , every people on this earth will be dead .
But don't worry because the KaliYuga began down 5,122 years ago and 426x878 years(till 2021 BC)are more left to live .
